Trending colours for every season
The Nava range reimagines the authentic, timeless beauty of the Kanchivaram wedding Saree for the new millennium with fresh and modern-day design motifs and bright, refreshing colours. Nava uses exclusively created dyes to bring about never seen before colours ranging from burnt orange and twilight blues to the quieter pastel evening colours. When combined with novel abstract art and geometric patterns the result is purely stunning.
Nava is all about the fabric and the weaving technique. Where the same lustre and grandeur is offered in an exuberantly stylish, considerably lightweight and wrinkle-free avatar. Nava will ensure that you look as special as the day.
It takes our master weavers, with over 30 years of experience, close to 1500 hours to bring one of these beauties to life from a simple sketch. Even the tiniest of errors would mean that the entire Saree has to be woven again from scratch. This is Palam silks’ tribute to the young brides of today.
The sarees are woven from pure mulberry silk thread. The pure mulberry silk used in the making of Kanchipuram Sarees comes from South India and the zari comes from Gujarat.
Shopping for the wedding Saree should be as exciting as the wedding itself. Or at least, nearly as exciting. And so it is,at the Nava Bridal Studio, a first of its kind ‘store-in-store’ for Nava. It is an immersive experience that lets you see, touch, and try out the collection. This space also acts as an exclusive bridal cabin where you get enough time and privacy to make the right choice.
Nava, the brainchild of our chief designer and proprietor, Ms. Jeyasree Ravi made its debut at the Vogue Wedding Show, one of India’s premier bridal events. And it made heads turn and riveted the attention of the crowds, even though it shared this grand stage with some of India’s biggest designer names like Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani. Not once, not twice but for 3 years in a row. After all, no matter who is at the wedding, it’s the new bride who shines brightest.
“People were taken aback by the fact that grand bridal kanchivarams can be so lightweight. It was an eye opener for them. To those who visited our Palam kiosk at Vogue this was enough to convince them that our Nava should be in their wardrobe.”
